With today’s fast paced world, people are really wanting to slow down and connect with mother earth and nature and just relax from all the pressures from the external world. There is a misconception by most people, even interior decorators & designers, that you should use white or pale colors to brighten up a small or dark room. Light colors work well if you have a room with windows that bring in enough natural sunlight where you don’t have to turn on any lights to read a book. However, white or pale colors don’t work if you have a room with no windows. Here is an example where white doesn’t work in the space even with lights. It accentuates the shadows in a space versus absorbs the shadows.
