Decorating With Green In The Spirit Of Saint Patrick’s Day!

Green is such a soothing and relaxing color that reminds me of nature, of spring, of renewal and rebirth. It’s such a great color that Pantone named Greenery, a yellow green, 2017 Color of the year.  You can go from a forest green to apple green to a mint green which is one of my favorite shades of green. Not many people realize that green takes up a larger portion of the spectrum of colors visible to the human eye than any other color. That means a tint, shade, or tone of green can have totally different associations than another green, but these associations have one thing in common- green is an emotionally positive color.  It is the sanctuary away from the stresses of modern living, restoring us back to a sense of well being, renewing depleted energy, living in the present moment, and being centered. With Saint Patrick’s Day coming up soon, what’s better than celebrating by incorporating some green into your home decor?  Paint your walls a dark hunter green, add lush plants to your decor, hang wallpaper in a green tropical pattern, reupholster your dining chairs in velvet emerald, tile your shower in mint green handcrafted clay tile, or paint your kitchen cabinets an olive green. However you decide to celebrate Saint Paddy’s day, be sure to add this calming and peaceful color to your home decor! Check out some images below of interior design and decor ideas to inspire and motivate you to decorate with green!
